Site #1:

Home Repairs for Good

Join us for an inside look at how Home Repairs for Good is preserving affordable homeownership and helping some of Marion County’s most vulnerable residents remain safe in their homes.

This site visit will explore how home repair programs function as a strong, affordable housing and preservation strategy. Participants will learn how targeted repairs can prevent displacement, improve health and safety, and preserve existing housing stock in neighborhoods where housing is limited and often time unaffordable.

Attendees will gain practical insight into what is it takes to design and operate a home repair initiative, including funding structures, project management approaches, and strategies for effectively integrating volunteers into construction and service delivery.

Whether you are interested in starting a repair program, strengthening an existing initiative, or looking for innovative housing stability strategies, this visit will provide ideas and real-world examples you can take back to your community.

Coburn Place

Join us for an inside look at one of Indiana’s longest-standing survivor housing organizations and explore what it takes to build programs that last. As Coburn Place celebrates 30 years of supporting survivors of domestic violence and their children, this site visit offers a unique opportunity to learn how safe housing, economic mobility, and organizational sustainability intersect to create long-term stability for families.

Coburn Place integrates Section 42 (LIHTC) transitional housing and HUD Funded Community Based Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) into a survivor-centered housing program, while simultaneously offering economic empowerment opportunities that support long-term self-sustainability.

Participants will explore how Coburn Place has maintained financial and programmatic strength over three decades through strong cross-departmental collaboration, intentional mission alignment, and diversified funding strategies. This visit will also highlight how economic opportunity programs can support survivors’ long-term self-sufficiency.
