Learning Opportunities Designed to Fit YOUR Needs
PI is working on several programs for 2024 including rural housing development webinars, financial literacy program best practices, and grant writing. If you would like to provide input on topics to help you achieve your 2024 goals, please contact Marie Beason.
Planning Services Update
PI is excited to assist the Kosciusko County Community Foundation with their GIFT VII planning grant aimed at increasing affordable housing within the county. The six-month process will include data analysis, community stakeholder conversations, and targeted recommendations to strengthen housing opportunities for all residents of Kosciusko County.
A Tool You Can Use
A comprehensive local housing strategy provides a guiding framework that identifies and coordinates key policy tools to achieve a locality’s objectives. Please check out the Prepare and Implement an Effective Local Housing Strategy tool from Local Housing Solutions to learn more on how local units of government can develop and implement strategies to meet their community’s housing needs.

The Hoosier Housing Needs Coalition Urges You To Contact Your Legislators Take action TODAY to ask your state legislators to support Senate Bill 277 and make sure it gets a hearing in the Senate Committee on Local Government. This bill would make it so that if a landlord refuses to make necessary health and safety repairs, the tenant can pay their rent to the clerk of the court instead to incentivize the landlord to follow the law. Without this law, many tenants are suffering in silence or being evicted. Contact your senators and representatives today. To learn more about this issue in Indiana, check out this short documentary produced by Hoosier Housing Needs Coalition Steering Committee members, the Greater Indianapolis Multifaith Alliance.
