2025 Prosperity Indiana Summit Recap
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2025 Prosperity Indiana Summit! This year’s theme, Emerging Leaders, Emerging Ideas, guided our focus on innovative strategies and leadership to expand housing and economic opportunity across Indiana. With approximately 240 community economic development professionals coming together, we explored what it takes to create lasting, equitable impact in our communities.
Pre-Summit Highlights
The festivities kicked off with our first ever Pre-Summit Site Visits, three inspiring locations across Indianapolis that showcased best practices in local redevelopment, collaborative housing development, and community impact. The evening concluded with a lively networking reception. A huge shoutout to our members John Boner Neighborhood Center and RDOOR Housing Solutions for opening their doors for Summit attendees to learn more about their amazing impact!
Keynote
Our Keynote conversation dove into the story of Shelby County’s affordable housing expansion. A panel of cross-sector partners shared what’s driving their collaboration, how they’ve overcome current challenges, and the lessons they’ve learned. The session set the tone for the day, bold ideas rooted in real-world partnerships.

Political Reporter Panel: Gov. Braun’s First 6 Months & The Road Ahead
Statehouse insiders from the Indiana Capital Chronicle, IndyStar, and Indiana Public Broadcasting unpacked Gov. Braun’s first six months in office and what his early moves signal for Indiana’s future.
Leveraging Media Collaboration to Address Health and Housing Disparities
This session highlighted a successful partnership between housing advocates and journalists to elevate stories on health disparities.
Building a Bridge to Housing Stability
This session featured members, Sojourner Truth House staff, who shared their approach to helping Gary residents transition from homelessness to housing stability.

Faith and Housing Summits

Housing Navigation Training Updates
PI, in partnership with the Indiana Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) and HealthVisions Midwest, concluded the first beta test of the Housing Navigation Training. Our first Housing Navigation Training beta test included 19 participants; participants included Certified Community Health Workers (CCHW) from Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and health related staff from other non-profits. The participants were given a Pre-test and a Post-test to gauge the participants' knowledge gained through the training. |

During the first beta test, the Pre-test average score was 61.2% while the Post-test average score was 82.3%. This is over 20% increase from the first test to the post test.

PI and its partners for this project are excited to share that the next beta test of this training will begin June 2nd and a third beta test is set to begin June 16th. Catalyzing Countywide Housing
Developing and implementing countywide housing strategies is a high priority for many Indiana counties. PI staff members are currently working with Tippecanoe County to develop solutions to close the county’s attainable housing gaps and recently provided a keynote address to kickoff LaPorte County’s attainable housing conversations. We love catalyzing our members’ work in developing equitable and attainable housing opportunities!
Housing Counseling Agencies:
NCRC opened the enrollment period for its Housing Counseling Network (HCN) today! All applications should be submitted through NCRC’s online portal no later than 5 pm ET on June 13, 2025.
Funding Opportunities:
IHCDA’s 2025-26 Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Application - the 2025-26 NAP Application opened on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The application will remain open through Monday, June 9, 2025. Application submission will be online via SurveyMonkey. Once the application has opened, it can be completed here.

Do your colleagues have access to the emergency assistance funds that are available to your organization’s clients? Where do your employees go for help when a financial crisis touches their household?
Prosperity Indiana members Homestead Resources, Brightpoint and CoAction joined the national Community Loan Center (CLC) lenders on a call in May to discuss the impact of current economic trends on working households. Financial struggles are expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Homestead Resources, Brightpoint and CoAction work together to provide the CLC financial wellness benefit to employees of Indiana-based employers across the state. At no cost to your organization, your employees can access up to $1000 and pay it back through payroll deduction over 12 months, protecting them from the predatory terms of a payday loan. Additional Information & Opportunities |
On May 14, 2025, Microsoft announced a significant change to its cloud donation program for nonprofits.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Microsoft will no longer offer donated licenses for its Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1 plans. If you have either of these license types, you will soon need to move to a different Microsoft Cloud plan or find an alternative productivity solution. Here's what you need to know. Which Products Are Affected? Beginning July 1, 2025, Microsoft will no longer offer licenses for these cloud subscriptions: - Donated Microsoft 365 Business Premium plans
- Donated Office 365 E1 plans
The following products are not impacted by this change: - All discounted Microsoft 365 or Office 365 plans
- Donated Microsoft 365 Basic plans
- Microsoft's "on-premises" products. These are software packages that you pay for only once and can use indefinitely. This includes Microsoft Office 2024 and Office for Mac.
If your nonprofit is using either of these license types, here’s what to expect: - You will not be able to renew affected licenses on or after July 1, 2025. Upon your next renewal, any affected licenses will be automatically canceled by Microsoft. You should choose a different license type before your licenses are canceled. If you do not, you will lose access to any data associated with the canceled licenses after 90 days.
- Any annual renewal that takes place before July 1, 2025, will be valid for a full year, after which your nonprofit will need to switch to different licensing. For example, if your current contract renews on June 5, 2025, it will be valid through June 4, 2026.
- On the other hand, if your current license term expires on July 15, 2025, any affected licenses will be canceled on that date.
We strongly recommend that you migrate to a different license type before Microsoft cancels your affected licenses. If you do not switch to a different license type, you will lose any data associated with the affected licenses 90 days after they are canceled. Additionally, Microsoft will not automatically move your licenses. You will need to decide how to proceed and make licensing changes upon renewal. How to Find Subscription Renewal Information. |

The Indianapolis Office of Sustainability and IFF are excited to announce the launch of Thriving Nonprofits, a new initiative funded by the McKinney Family Foundation designed to help nonprofits improve the energy efficiency of their facilities and reduce operating costs.
