Prosperity Indiana CRA Comment Webinar

Join fellow Prosperity Indiana members and staff to discuss how to make simple and relevant comments on the proposed federal rule for the Community Reinvestment Act before the deadline on Friday, August 5, 2022. The call will include basic how-to tips from local partners and national resources including NACEDA and NCRC’s TreasureCRA page.

The Community Reinvestment Act was passed in 1977 to end discrimination known as redlining. The CRA informs how banks invest in LMI communities and requires banks to meet the credit needs of the communities where they do business. However, because discrimination in lending is still a problem, we need a strengthened CRA to fully benefit Indiana communities and the organizations who serve them.

We encourage those to attend who might otherwise not comment, to learn the basic ideas for how to apply their work into comments on the areas that are of greatest impact to community economic development organizations and the PI network as a whole. We also encourage PI members who already know how they will comment to share their approach. A recording of the discussion will be circulated on Thursday in order to aid members in completing their comments.

PI members: when you submit your comments, please also copy us at info@prosperityindiana.org. If you send a copy before Friday, August 5, your input can be included in PI’s association-wide comments.
