Financial health, financial stress, and economic trauma are essential concepts to understand if we want to provide meaningful services to people in economic need without causing them more trauma. This interactive seminar brought to you by the Financial Health Institute will bring awareness of the dynamic effects of economic trauma and abuse, and it will provide you with suggestions for how you and your organization can take steps to become mortrauma-informed in order to help families stabilize and thrive.

Shawn B. Young | Founder and CEO | Financial Health Institute 

Recognizing the strong relationship among money, stress and health, Shawn B. Young has devoted the past 15 years to creating and delivering educational programs, seminars and workshops focused on life skill development, specifically targeted at helping people make changes to their financial and health behaviors. Based on extensive research into behavioral and neuro economics, and the physical and psychological effects of financial stress on individuals, families, and organizations, Shawn created the Financial Health Institute in 2012, which has helped over 55,000 people across the United States gain skills to improve their financial health.



Joanne McLain | Vice President of Innovation and Curriculum | Financial Health Institute 

Joanne McLain is the VP of Innovation and Curriculum at the Financial Health Institute. Her experience includes managing Family Programs for a Human Services Department and providing mental health and substance abuse counseling in a variety of settings. Joanne has a Master’s Degree in Psychology, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in Colorado and earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation.
