ABOUT PROSPERITY INDIANA

Prosperity Indiana is a statewide membership organization for individuals and organizations strengthening Hoosier communities. Since its founding in 1986, Prosperity Indiana has grown to over 200 organizational members, currently representing 1,300 community economic development practitioners from public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Prosperity Indiana builds a better future for our communities by providing advocacy, leveraging resources, and engaging an empowered network of members to create inclusive opportunities that build assets and improve lives.

SUMMIT OVERVIEW

Goal

The 2026 Prosperity Indiana Summit will strengthen affordable housing and economic mobility opportunities throughout Indiana's ruralurban, and suburban communities.

Guiding Value

The 2026 Prosperity Indiana Summit will engage and energize community economic development professionals through carefully crafted sessions designed to meet diverse learner needs. Summit sessions must aim to provide thought-provoking content, catalyze conversations, address current trends, or share best practices to expand housing and economic opportunities across our state.

Target Audience

The Summit is PI’s annual signature event providing value to 240-300 community economic development sector professionals. Attendees represent various experience levels and sub-sectors including, but not limited to housing developers, financial institutions, local units of governments, health systems, policy makers, and philanthropic organizations. The event also reaches a wide cross-section of nonprofit organizations that provide financial stability services, small business support, housing for those experiencing homelessness, and programs increasing community health outcomes.

SUMMIT SESSION CATEGORIES

Tracks and Framework

The 2025 Summit will include a series of breakout sessions or “tracks” dedicated to addressing emerging trends and leadership challenges within the sector.

Please keep the following in mind when designing your Summit proposal:

  • Session length can be 60 or 75 minutes.

  • Session proposals must align with both the Summit theme: Building the Communities (People & Places) of Indiana’s Future and a specific perspective (Economic Opportunity, Housing, and/or Organizational Sustainability).

  • Sessions must be non-promotional.

  • Sessions are limited up to three speakers/panelists, plus one moderator.

  • If additional speakers/panelists are requested beyond the session limit, they must register and pay for a Summit ticket.

  • Prosperity Indiana reserves the right to merge proposals on related topics.

  • Presenters/speakers/panelists should reflect subject matter expertise, community voices or individuals with lived experience.

  • Adult learners tend to be experiential learners and respond to content directly aligned with their work. Please try to develop a session that “chunks” information into segments, applies content to tasks, and directs participants to resources for learning. You are encouraged to add Q&A time, group exercises, and table conversations to your session content.

  • As part of the evaluation process, selected applicants may be asked to submit a 5–10-minute video or audio recording of their proposed presentation. This helps the review committee assess quality, clarity, and engagement style to ensure a well-rounded conference experience.

Session proposals are due before FridayFebruary 13, 2026at 5.00 pm (Eastern Time).
