Advocacy 301: The Experience

The third webinar in a three-part series that will empower you as a nonprofit advocate and prepare you for the 2025 legislative session. 

Advocacy 101 provided an understanding of what advocacy legally means for nonprofit organizations and staff and the regulations involved in influencing public policy. Advocacy 201 covered how to advocate effectively and what strategies to use. Advocacy 301 will conclude this series with simulated interactions between legislators, advocates, and staff to demonstrate what advocating really looks like in practice.

Participants will learn:

• What to expect when calling a policymaker and speaking to their Legislative Assistant to leave a message
• What to expect when meeting with a legislator that is receptive to an issue
• What to expect when meeting with a legislator that is skeptical of an issue
